Happy 39th Birthday to Caylee Dawn tomorrow, April 26th!!
Happy 13th Birthday Richard Luke, Thursday, April 29th!!
Looking at my planner page of our upcoming week reminds me that tomorrow was the day I was to have had surgery…Truly we had another Mission Miracle; and how grateful we are that so many prayers were answered!!! Richard read that there was a 9% chance of passing that kidney stone on my own…which means there was 91% chance of having to have surgery…We know WHO is in charge!!! We know the power of fasting and prayer…thank you to all of you for your prayers on behalf of missionaries!!
A brief rundown of our weeks activities:
Office Meetings - Monday
Haircut for Sister Beaune
Montreal Zone Interviews - Tuesday and Wednesday
Montreal Zone Conference - in Drummondville - Thursday
Mission Wide Learning Conference - Friday
Layered along with the above included: Area Training for our

Everyday we are tied to our paper planners…, and are amazed at how everything does work out…especially when we layer meetings on top of other meetings!!
Maybe I have mentioned that every week the Missionary Department produces a Devotional for all missionaries to watch. Last week Elder Jeffrey R. Holland inspired and motivated us! Usually it is prerecorded Thursday evening, and we have our missionaries watch it sometime before Sunday evening when as a whole mission we meet. Every Sunday night at nine, we gather over zoom, and in break out rooms of about 6 or 8 missionaries for about 15 minutes we discuss our ‘take aways’ from the Devotional. In Elder Holland style we all were awed by his simple, profound teaching. He taught us about the Holy Ghost…did you know there are 581 references to the Holy Ghost in the Standard Works? Here are a dozen ways he shared that the Holy Ghost works in Missionary Work:
1. Revelator.
2. He conveys the words of Christ.
3. He leads us to know what to do.
4. He prepares people to be taught.
5. He teaches truth.
6. He teaches missionaries what to say.
7. He provides the missionary in the very time what to say.
8. He purifies both the teacher and the learner.
9. He intercedes to strengthen prayers.
10. He helps provide language proficiency.
11. He brings all to our remembrance
12. He is a Comforter.
The Holy Ghost is absolutely essential in the teaching process.
A truly changed heart can only be brought about by the Spirit. - (no coercing allowed!)
He taught that every companionship should be a divine companionship…bathed in the Spirit of the Lord.
Every twosome should be a threesome.
We choose to look for the good and cherish our companionship.
Know that the cultivated spiritual habits we are making, we get to take home.
He gave us an Apostolic Blessing: Blessed everyone…you and your companion. He admonished each of us to cherish the fulfillment of our answers to prayers, and to feel confidence, hope and trust in ALL the Lord’s promises, and to love and honour those promises.
He shared how His Mission meant everything to Him, and wants our Missions to mean everything to us. Always seek the companionship of the Holy Ghost. And…our Mission DOES mean everything to us…we are so grateful to be here!!!
Our Area Training included teaching by Elder and Sister Christofferson, Elder and Sister Gay, Elder and Sister Bennett, Elder and Sister Bassett and Elder and Sister Johnson.
A few of the notes from Elder Christofferson’s message:
Teach how to access the power of the Atonement.
Repentance is key…teach it; it is an exercise of our agency.
We are responsible for ourselves.
He can’t make us good unless we follow his commandments
and choose to follow the path.
Missionaries must apply repentance in their own lives, and as
they do, they can more effectively teach.
There is NO Repentance quota on #of times we can repent.
Mosiah 26:30
President Nelson calls it ‘Joyful Daily Repentance.’
Repent with a Smile…He is quick to forgive. (I love that!!)
What a wonderful expression of His LOVE.
His Atonement is complete - seek it through Repentance.
Elder Gay:
If Jesus came to one of our meetings, He would see right into our hearts.
We are lifting each other because we are at war…
Be good at what we teach, and how we teach.
Teach with urgency..warning the world.
We are on the front line…we must hold the line.
ALWAYS testify of the Saviour..He LIVES and He Speaks today.
Always focus on the Doctrine of Christ.
When missionaries are struggling..always point them to the Saviour.
Can we see His image in their countenance?
Ask - How many times did you think about the Saviour today?
Mosiah 3:17
Wednesday morning session Richard and I each got to bear our testimonies, and it was an emotional experience for both of us as we know it is the last time we will be with (virtually) our dear friends (about 20 other couples) who we have served with. Such a reminder that our time is far spent…
Tonight we get to discuss the incredible devotional by Elder Brent H. Nielson, and his wife Marcia. He talked a lot about miracles…starting with the parting of the Red Sea and the children of Israel walking through on dry ground..and then he shared this amazing statistic….
last March 2020 before covid worldwide missionaries found 2047 new people to teach..AND…March 2021….using technology 56,736 new people were found worldwide!!! We know the effectiveness of social media!!
And here we are a week later…sorry this didn’t get posted!!
Hope you all had a wonderful week!
Much Love
Grandpa and Grandma, Dad and Mom, Richard and Gayle
